Concordia Choral Arts is happy to announce our highly anticipated return for the 2021-2022 season! We have been working diligently to keep the health and safety of our music community the top priority. Now, with a brand new partnership, we are pleased to return for the Fall/Winter season at United Church of Christ at Valley Forge. Concordia is proud to collaborate with a beautiful venue that shares our values, as well as remains a central location for our singers.
Please join us for our Kick Off Rehearsal on Sunday, September 19th at UCCVF! We will be singing from 3-5, as per our normal schedule, then head over to Black Powder Tavern for a "Welcome Back" choir dinner. We hope to see you at either or both of these wonderful events as we celebrate the opportunity to make music together again.
Concordia Choral Arts would like to recognize our Safe Singing Committee, who’ve spent the past year researching safe singing practices in order to return to weekly rehearsals effectively. Going forward, this committee will continue to follow updated mandates and guidance from the CDC, Chester County Health Department, Chorus America, and the American Choral Director’s Association, which will help inform Concordia’s future mask and safe singing policies.
Additional thanks to our former and current singers who were able to participate in our Zoom Workshops, Virtual Choir, or distanced in-person singing events over the past 16 months. It has been a pleasure to stay connected, even in a small way, and is a testament to our strength as a music community.
We understand that in these “unprecedented times,” some of our members may not yet feel comfortable returning to weekly, in-person rehearsals. Some may choose to join us in a couple months, and others may choose to leave in a couple months; some may choose to distance or wear a mask, and some may not. Please contact Kate with any questions or changes to your decision to sing this season. Concordia asks that our members extend both the professional and personal courtesy to respect others’ choices related to pandemic safety, health, and comfort level. We recommend that our members consult their health professionals if there is any hesitation to return to regular singing.
We are incredibly eager to make music together again, in the same room, without computers! To register for the upcoming season and submit any questions or concerns, please visit the link below. We can't wait to see you again soon!
